  • 4 lb chicken wings (split and tips removed or drummers)
  • 1 cup bourbon
  • 1 cup orange marmalade or preserves
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Hot wings are traditional fare at most Super Bowl parities, but this is a nice alternative for those who like the sweet over the spicy.

They are quick and easy to make and the glaze color is rich and deep, presenting beautifully on a platter.

Serve them with a ranch dip, some sliced celery and carrots, and you’re good to go.

They will be a hit - but remember to have lots of napkins, or better yet, wet naps on hand.

Step 1
Preheat oven to 450ºF.
Step 2
Bring a large pot of water up to a bubble and par-cook the chicken for about 5 minutes. Drain and pat dry. Place the wings onto a baking sheet. Season both sides with salt and black pepper and roast chicken for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Step 3
In the meantime, whisk together the bourbon, preserves, brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire, salt and pepper in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat and cook until reduced by half. Remove from heat.
Step 4
Remove wings from oven. Pour bourbon sauce over them and toss.
Step 5
Put wings back in the oven, switching from bake to broil, and cook about 5 to 10 minutes, until sauce thickens and darkens in color.
