Kings Park School District, in conjunction with Kings Park in the kNO Community Coalition, will host its biannual Preventing Destructive Decisions forum on March 14 at 7:00 p.m. The event will be held at the William T. Rogers Middle School at 97 Old Dock Road in Kings Park.
Suffolk County Police Commissioner Timothy Sini will be presenting to the community. He will discuss the current trends in law enforcement as it pertains to the current opiate epidemic.
Kym Laube, Executive Director of HUGS, Human Understanding and Growth Services is a leading expert in addiction prevention and a dynamic speaker. Every parent/ guardian will benefit from the information that Mrs. Laube will be discussing.
Linda Ventura, Kings Park resident will share her personal experience of living with and losing a child to addiction. March 14th is the 5th anniversary of the passing of Linda’s son Thomas.
Linda and Kym have been traveling Long Island, NY state, and the country planting seeds for change. Annually Kym presents to over 15,000 individuals and keeps her workshops uplifting, humorous and engaging. After the loss of Thomas, Linda has become a powerful motivator and catalyst for change in policy and practice.
This presentation is targeted toward adults in the community. Child care will be available because we feel that as a parent you need to hear this presentation. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers. Resource tables will be available.
