In the Quill Awards contest, there are over 50 high schools that attend Press Day and submit entries into six categories. They recognize first, second, and third places along with an honorable mention. Most categories have over 40 entries, so placing in the top four is extremely difficult. The Kings Park High School students below earned a Kings Herald best four awards out of our six entries!

1st Place Most Outstanding Reporter (*This is the most competitive category, along with “Best Newspaper”)

2nd Place Best Sports Story or Column
Lily Hoffmann for her article “Lady Kingsmen? The Hypocrisy of the Kings Park Mascot”

2nd Place Best Cartoon or Illustration
Marissa Marino for her cartoon “Mochie-Thanksgiving”

3rd Place Best Opinion Piece
Stephen Pravato for his article “The Impact of Cell Phones”
